Guiding Your Team

Through the M&A Integration

One executive accountable for making the acquisition work.

Pratumi Advisors offers fractional and interim acquisition integration leadership for $10M-$150M companies, from signed LOI through the first year after close. We turn your deal thesis into an executable integration plan and lead it through delivery, aligning decision rights, operating processes, systems, reporting, and leadership accountability so the combined business can operate as one and deliver the value promised in the deal.

Discuss your integration

When no one owns the integration, deal value starts to slip.

Pratumi Advisors acts as your integration lead, a fractional executive, accountable for turning the deal thesis into operating results.

We work alongside your team and drive the integration plan from the deal thesis to operating results over six to twelve months. Pre-close work is planning and Day One readiness. Execution begins after close. Each integration is different, but a typical engagement follows three phases.

TYPICAL INTEGRATION TIMELINE

Days 1-30

Establish the baseline

Clarify the deal thesis, committed outcomes, consolidation targets, major risks, decision rights, and who owns each work stream.

Days 30-90

Move to execution

Launch the highest-value priorities, set the management cadence, close accountability gaps, surface blocked decisions, and start capturing measurable gains.

Months 3-12

Run as one business

Drive toward a stable operating model with consolidated systems, reporting, and accountability, then hand the cadence to your leadership team.

Empowering Your team

We work alongside deal counsel, bankers, accountants, and operating partners, not in place of them.

One accountable lead

A single executive owns integration governance, decisions, and follow-through, reporting to the CEO.

Tied to the deal thesis

Every workstream traces back to the synergies and consolidation gains the deal was underwritten on.

Timely, actionable data

Progress, risks, and value capture are reported on a regular cadence, in terms a board can act on.

An Integration Executive

For the months that decide the deal

Pratumi Advisors provides executive experience focused on translating the acquisition thesis into an operating plan– and driving it through execution.

The acquisition is complete, or close to it. The people who would normally lead the integration are the same people responsible for customers, cash, and this quarter’s results.

Without a dedicated owner, critical decisions get distributed across functional leaders. Duplicate costs persist, systems stay fragmented, accountability blurs, and expected consolidation gains begin to slip. Your team is already running the business. Let Pratumi Advisors lead the integration.

Success Measures

Progress is reported against outcomes agreed at the start, not against activity.

Not every measure will apply to every deal. They should be selected according to the deal thesis.

  • Integration milestones achieved
  • Decision rights and ownership established
  • Unified management reporting in place
  • Deal-specific synergies and targets captured
  • Critical systems and processes integrated
  • Key people and customers retained
  • Reporting and visibility improved
  • Systems integrated and/or rationalized
  • Leadership team operating with a sustainable cadence

About

Pratumi Advisors takes its name from PRATUM, the Latin word for prairie or meadow; a defined place where growth can take hold. Prairies are vast, self-sustaining native grasslands, while meadows are smaller, often transitional spaces dominated by grasses and wildflowers. Pratumi Advisors excels in creating a functional, contained space within the open fields.

Stephen Wade

Pratumi Advisors Founder and Principal

Stephen Wade founded Pratumi Advisors to give CEOs of $10M–$150M companies what most can’t justify hiring full time: an experienced executive who owns the integration from signing until the combined company runs as one business.

Stephen connects the economics of the deal with the operating model, technology, decision rights, and people required to make the combined business work. His experience includes consolidating two divisions and 90 properties into a shared-services model, integrating acquired business units, modernizing systems and reporting, and leading complex organizational change.

Stephen has served as regional CEO and CFO for a national media company, and as chief executive and chief financial officer of a public organization with more than 1,000 employees, a $325 million operating budget, and a $900 million capital budget. He has negotiated labor agreements across seven bargaining units, served as finance lead on three public bond issuances, and led the change management that makes new structures hold.

Stephen’s nationally recognized landscape photography is featured throughout this site.

FAQs

A consulting team typically delivers a plan and a staffing model. Pratumi provides one senior operator embedded with your leadership team and accountable for execution, rather than adding a larger project team or handing recommendations back to management.
Anywhere from signed LOI through the first year after close. Earlier is better, because pre-close planning shapes Day One decisions, but many engagements begin after close, when expected gains start slipping.

Most engagements are structured as a monthly executive retainer based on the complexity of the integration and the leadership commitment required.
